Black history month community meeting

What a night! Thank you so much to all those that came to Docklands Community Centre for our Black History Month celebratory Community Meeting. It felt wonderful to gather together once more, in real life!

This year we celebrated Black History Month with a showcase of our work in the community over the past 2 years. We are particularly proud of our education programme which continues to evolve and have a real impact in the community.

Leah, our Schools Manager shared our outreach programmes and partnership projects which have enabled us to work with a fantastic array of community facilitators; each bringing their own experiences and perspectives, adding to the richness of our outreach programmes. Keziah, our Community Engagement Coordinator shared our Digital Inclusion Programme and Windrush Library project.

Our community had a chance to meet our new Chair of the St Pauls Carnival board, Mr Levi Roots, and hear of his commitment and dedication to St Pauls Carnival.

A special thanks to students and staff of Montpelier High School for their presentation and to Jerk King for supplying the delicious eats!
