Communications & Social Media Officer
This is the sharp end of delivery, working to our overall strategy with additional focus on website and content creation. We would also like to see the successful applicant developing our communications into the community we serve.

Key Responsibilities
Developing, writing and editing all marketing communication content to a consistently high standard and to deadlines
Includes social media, website content, email marketing (Mailchimp), blogs, newsletters and events
Managing the delivery and creation of up- to- date website content (squarespace)
Managing our social media channels including maintenance of tone of voice
Delivering marketing communications for a wide range of activities such as the Carnival, Schools Programme, Black History Month, Fringe events and Kwanzaa
Reviewing communications tools we use to ensure efficiency and value for money
Attending events and meetings as required
Regular reporting on communications activities and channels and producing analysis detailing successes, areas for improvements and recommendations
What We Are Looking For:
St Pauls Carnival is a well loved cultural event with its roots in the African Caribbean community of St Pauls. It is vital for the success of the event that it remains true to its roots and closely linked to its cultural heritage.
You will be enthusiastic, imaginative, and energetic with a ‘can do’ attitude, able to confidently work as part of a team or individually. Working closely with the executive director and board member with strategic lead for communications, you will have the ability to problem solve and take ownership of tasks. A shared passion for the work of the organisation and cultural arts would be beneficial too.
At least 3 years’ experience in communications with proven success
Extensive communication and marketing skills inc. social media, website content, email marketing (preferably Mailchimp)
Excellent copywriting skills, writing for specific audiences and in different media Strong attention to detail, with high accuracy and quality of output
Strong organisational skills, including prioritisation and time-management
Excellent user service experience, ability to respond accordingly to stakeholders
Experience of working for a charity / CIC
Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages
